BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The University of Tennessee swept SEC Athlete of the Year honors for 1997-98 as senior quarterback Peyton Manning and junior basketball forward Chamique Holdsclaw were selected by the league's athletic directors. It is only the second time in SEC history that the male and female recipients have come from the same school. The first time was in 1987, when Alabama's Cornelius Bennett and Lillie Leatherwood-King were honored.
