Holdsclaw is coming along "at the exact right time because of the explosion of women's sports," according to Sandi Bittler, the director of women's sports marketing at Nike. Some say Holdsclaw will become the first female basketball player to earn $1 million annually.
"Chamique is going to be the player for the next millennium," said Los Angeles Sparks star Lisa Leslie – one of the players of this millennium. "She's really going to open more doors for all of us."
